New Residence
Memorial
Completed Spring 2005
This house was designed for an active family of four. The unusual floor plan locates the kitchen in the center of the house. French doors off the dining room, kitchen and family room open onto a generous patio that is shaded by a live oak tree. There's a home office, a mud room off of the garage, and plenty of storage space, per the family's request.
Upstairs, a gracious master bedroom has windows on four sides. The windows are placed just a little higher than normal to give privacy while still allowing views of the outside. A small balcony overlooks the backyard. The homeowners say they love watching lightning storms from their bedroom. The master bath features glass mosaic tile and truly reflects the homeowner's transitional contemporary taste.
Each child has a special room. The daughter has the loft she always wanted with a custom painted rock climbing wall. The son has a play pit, like a small house within the house. His special space allows his imagination to come to life.
